"Ta-dah" Polydor/2006 www.scissorsisters.com www.myspace.com/scissorsistersWith their first album selling nearly 10 million copies worldwide, the pressure was on for the New York City quintet Scissor Sisters to produce a second album that would be as good as their first. The result is "Ta-dah". The album has already topped the charts in the UK and the first single from the album "Don't Feel Like Dancing" has staked itself out at the number one spot on the UK singles chart.
Music legend Sir Elton John collaborated with the band's songwriters on "I Don't /Feel Like Dancing" and "Intermission". Sir Elton also lent his piano playing skills and appears on the opening track and first single "I Don't Feel Like Dancing".
"Ta-dah" contains 12 original songs in varying styles. There is little time to sit still and even less time to get bored.
For members of the Scissor Sisters music is only a part of who they are. Their shows resemble a theatrical production. Male lead singer Jake Shears likens their dressing up to the glam rock days of the Supremes and other such groups. Band members feel it is important to be who you are. This philosophy carries a double edge sword for the band since three of the band members are gay. At time the band finds themselves being labeled a gay band. They are much more than that and "Ta-dah" shows that the Scissor Sisters are a band of accomplished musicians who know how to make good music and put on a show.
"Ta-dah" is one of those albums you will put on the CD player and wear it out playing it over and over and over again.
